Adverum is looking for an Associate Scientist, Drug Product Development (contractor) to report to the Director, Drug Product. This role involves independently designing and executing studies to support product and process development in drug product projects. The candidate will develop and optimize protocols, formulations, and characterization methods, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. Collaboration with internal teams and contract labs is essential to meeting project timelines and goals. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate scientific data and results.

What you'll do:

  • Independently design and execute studies to support product and process development.
  • Perform routine tasks independently and modify plans in alignment with manager and team for more complex tasks.
  • Develop and optimize protocols, formulations, characterization methods, and techniques ensuring reliability and reproducibility.
  • Work collaboratively and efficiently on drug product development projects towards project timelines and goals.
  • Interpret results and draw conclusions from well-designed experiments.
  • Generate high-quality data and document protocol and study results in electronic lab notebook.
  • Collaborate and provide support for formulation and drug product process development and data generation by internal and contract labs.
  • Organize and maintain Drug Product lab space and equipment.
  • Effectively organize and present scientific data in presentations and summarize studies by authoring reports that support regulatory filings.
  • Effectively communicate study plans, updates, data results and conclusions to team members in a clear and timely manner.
This is a contract role, starting at 6 months. Hourly rate will depend on experience and location.
The hourly range for this position is $55.00/hr to $60.00/hr USD. This hourly range is an estimate, and the actual range may vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, including education, length of experience, location, and market data.
